40 R&D engineers based in Changzhou are divided in two groups, one engaged in development for industry and communication power supplies, and another targets at A/V power supplies. On average, Hongguang applies for 6 patents every year, covering both cosmetic design and switching power supply technology.
The company will release about 15 new models a year, and the LCD/PDP TV power supplies and industry power supplies now lead its R&D direction. The newly released models include an AC/DC open frame power supply for PDP/LCD TVs, which features 280W power output. And another new product is a slim-design AC/DC adapter for laptop computers, featuring 18mm thin. Hongguang also treats the environment-friendly design as one of it R&D emphases.
Affected by the fluctuating prices of materials and components, the products will also have a little float in 2006, within 5 to 10 percent. |
